BEST BEATS!

This was supposed to happen yesterday, but I forgot.  So today works!  Once a month I’m gonna post a song with a tremendous beat—beat in the sense of the instrumentals in a hip hop song, not just “rhythm.”  We’re kickin’ it off fittingly:  a song about winter in the northwest.  It being winter, and me being in the northwest, I give you:

Blue Scholars, Coffee And Snow 2.

It’s a sequel to Coffee And Snow.  They’re both (at least a bit) about it snowing in Seattle, an event apparently at least as rare there as it is here in Portland.  This place has no idea what winter means.  I’m torn as to whether I like that or not—temperatures starting to rise in February sounds pretty fine, but I miss the crunch under my boots across a muffled field.  What I am quite sure I do like, though, is the beat on the song.  Check it out. Expect another great in a month.

Dedicated to the hip hop music coming out of Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, Vancouver, and everywhere else in the upper left.
