I’ve been on this ridiculously awesome Common Market binge, because let’s be real - they made damn good music. ‘My Pathology’ was the track that introduced me to the sounds of Common Market back during my Senior year of high school. They may be working on their own respective projects, but it will never fail to amaze me how incredible their music is. Purchase the album on iTunes. It’s definitely worth it.

So, not that much NW stuff played on SNSS this week, but a whole TON of it played on Street Sounds. I don’t know why, but Larry just went on an 1.5 hour Northwest music spree and oh was it great. He played everything from old to new, including some of my favorites, DJ Infrared’s Red October EP and of course, Common Market’s Tobacco Road (both CLASSICS in our minds.) You know this track was going to make an appearance sooner or later. From Sabzi’s side project with Kelsey Bulkin, Made in Heights dropped Winter Pigeons a couple winter’s ago just in time for the holiday season. This mix contains everything you need to raise your spirits for Christmas, including this dope rendition of an old classic. While the instrumentals may be gone, you can still check out Made in Heights here.
Pam (pamjane) and Brittany (brittanymward) are the two people who really make this blog happen. Here they are last Thursday with Sabzi after the Blue Scholars show in Bellingham that kicked off their latest tour. Pretty much the best picture ever.

One of my favorite dishes happens to be pho. One of my favorite producers happens to be Sabzi. Mix those two together and this is what you get. We finally get to hear him rap in this ode to the delicious soup and frankly, it’s pretty awesome. Remember, it doesn’t rhyme with yo. You’ll be jonesin’ for a bowl of pho after listening to this.
